Growing up in the Los Angeles area we were privileged to hear Richard Blade on KROQ during the lunch hour.
Blade was the bomb back in the day. I loved to hear him spin Thompson Twins, Ah-ha, Adam & the Ants, The Cure, Love & Rockets, Madness, Fishbone, Spandau Ballet, The Jam, Psychedelic Furs, The Stone Roses, Information Society, Bad Manners, and everyone else! What kind of music is shaped like the 80’s? THE BEST KINDS!
Here is a few pictures of me back in the day [brought to you by yearbookyourself.com]
This is me in 1992, partying like it was 1999. The sad thing is this is probably a close second to what I was really like back in 1992. Well minus the hair. I did keep my hair short. But the sweater I probably owned a few of them.
Here I am all up in the Maiden and stuff. I never sported a mullet, but I should have. That may be the only thing I regret about my high school years. I did not have a mullet. I love this one. I may make it a poster and pass it off as a real picture of me. I bet Mere would think I was way sexy and totally worship me. Sorry Jesus that I am a sexy mullet man!
This is the year I rebelled and joined the Young Republicans. I also joined the Glee Club, Break Dancers for Christ, and quit wrestling. I also started playing in a rock band. We were all nerdy so we called our sound math rock. I still have the jacket from this era. I am thankful that I got to sit in on the mind sessions with Reagan, Bush, and all the other cool cats.
