I am taking a Muslim-Christian Encounters course and a Comparative Religions course this semester. I am also in my senior preaching section, Teaching the Bible, and Call to Ministry.
I have been reading the Qur’an a lot these days. I think I have spent more time in the Qur’an than the Bible. I have found some amazing wisdom in this book. I have also spent much time seeking an understanding of Islam. I have thus far come to appreciate the beauty in the submission to Allah as well as the practice in the Qur’an.
I am going to attend an Iftar next week [this is a meal taken at dusk to end the Ramadan fast]. I see far more similarities between Islam and Christianity than I do differences now.
In one of the courses I am learning Arabic calligraphy. I am excited to learn this!
