I arose from my slumber with visions of peace, calm, and a pint of C& A’s best. Oh how I miss you Austin! I long for your warm embrace and the shinning face of your children. I admire from afar in this your rival turf. I miss the smiles and laughs of kin and friend. I remember fondly the lessons taught by your ebbs and flows. I will see you soon, with all of your splendor and beauty…soon.
I will miss Oklahoma and the folks that have taken me in and blessed me with lessons never taught in school. I appreciate all that they have done for me. I still have a few things to do and only ten days to do them. I pray I end well here and carry the steam captured into a busy season of class and ords.
I will miss the relative freedom I have here. I will miss the gym and all of the characters there. I will miss going out on rounds on Wednesday’s and seeing the beauty of central Oklahoma. I will miss the silent clam and comfort of the elders and my supervisor. I will miss the Wal-Mart and all of its OU glory [j/k]. I will miss the mullet headed children that populate the surrounding countryside. I will miss the random dogs that come to the door at the church, arriving with a smile and wagging tail and leaving having given me hope and a bit of love.
God thank you for the blessings provided for here. I pray I may go forth and answer the call on my life. May I remember the call of Bartimaeus, Jesus…have mercy on me! I pray you deliver me safe to Austin with Nana Puddin’ and a bucket load of lessons.
PALABRA TU MADRE!!!
“I will miss the mullet headed children that populate the surrounding countryside.”I love this sentence.I look forward to seeing you again too in just a few weeks. I have a feeling that being away (even for those of us who are under two hours away) has made us appreciate Austin and all “it’s children” all the more. I can’t wait to be a community again. I know we only have a year, so I feel moved to appreciate that year fully!
Ryan, I am glad you have learned a lot in Oklahoma. Are you back in Austin on Sunday the 19th????? I’ll be back for a few days. Sunday night at the crown????Peace out yo!
